Moved by the Spirit
Thursday May 5, 2011
All of us at mobank are truly moved by a very special recognition we received recently. That's because we were recognized for the values we try to live by every day.
We were one of three companies honored with the 2010 Spirit at Work Award, presented annually by the Center for Spirit at Work. We were cited in the medium-sized company category; other honorees were Teva Neuroscience in the large category and World's Window in the small category.
The award is presented to companies "who, by their demonstration of inclusiveness and ethical business practices, add much to the life of their employees." We like to think that working and living by those principles adds to the lives of not just our employees, but our customers and our community. We offer our sincere gratitude to the Center for Spirit at Work, which describes itself as "a forum for people to explore and reflect on the integration of spiritual values and work."
We were also delighted to see the special recognition granted to Danny O'Neill, founder of mobank customer The Roasterie. Danny received the Msgr. Bud Fiedler Award, presented annually to the business person who best exemplifies the values and mission of Msgr. Fiedler, the founder of the Center.
Finally, we were truly touched by a blog post on the Kansas City Olive Branch site, written by a guest at the award ceremony, who was somewhat surprised to see a bank cited for such values, and decided to check us out.
