Same Pace, Same Place, Same Great Cause
Thursday February 2, 2012
Two years ago, when mobank sponsored the first Pace for the Place, the event raised not quite $3,000 for The Children's Place, an organization dedicated to healing the youngest survivors of abuse, neglect and trauma.
Last year, the event grew spectacularly, more than tripling the amount of money raised for this vital program. Hopes are high that the same growth can happen at the third annual event this April.
“At mobank, we believe in a community where we all support one another. We know it takes a village to raise a child. Well, it takes a community to heal one,” said mobank’s chief administrative officer, George Satterlee, who also serves on the board for The Children’s Place. “The great thing about this event is that it gives families an opportunity to teach children a broader world vision where children can help other children – all while having fun getting some fresh air and exercise.”
Pace for the Place is a springtime stroll along the scenic Trolley Track Trail near mobank’s Brookside branch at 7 W. 62nd Terrace. This year’s 3-mile walk begins at 9 a.m., April 14. Once again, activities will include breakfast provided by Chris Cakes and coffee from The Roasterie. The donation, or cost to participate in the event is $25 per adult and $5 for children ages 5 –12 years old.
Interested walkers can register here.
This year, in addition to the entrance fee, walkers are encouraged to collect pledges from family and friends.<<-Next Prev->>
