Good Morning, Great Cause
Tuesday March 25, 2014
Nothing says “spring has sprung” like a good morning stroll for a great cause. And Pace for the Place is just the event you need to get out and take in some fresh air. The money raised goes to fund The Children’s Place and build awareness for Kansas City-area children who suffer abuse, neglect and trauma.
Brooksiders, mobankers and community members alike, meet us at mobank’s Brookside branch April 19 at 8 a.m. for registration and entertainment by Lulu the Clown. The three-mile walk/saunter/stroll will begin at 9 a.m., journey to The Children’s Place and loop back around to mobank’s Brookside branch, where a Chris Cakes pancake breakfast will be served with fresh fruit from Door to Door Organics and Roasterie coffee.
“The Children’s Place is one of those organizations that really makes Brookside a great community,” said George Satterlee, mobank’s executive vice president and chief administrative officer. “We’re proud to support such a great cause and rally around others who help make a difference.”
An event that’s grown each year since it began, Pace for the Place raised more than $25,000 last year and over $58,000 since the walk began in 2010. This year’s participation is $25 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-12. Children under 3, leashed dogs and strollers are not only welcome – they’re encouraged.
Walkers – register in advance here.
